One expert suggests that I sell my books myself, another says get an agent. Pay a professional editor. No let the publisher guide your editing. For that matter, stop writing altogether, just sell the idea. That way may be a method to get rich, but it's not something that I can bring myself to admire. As a thorough researcher, I have piles of conflicting testimony from writers who, surprisingly, don’t sell their work as plentifully as they sell their advice. So I’m starting here.
My poetry, short stories and news articles have been published in local and statewide literary and small press. I am now submiting to larger magazines, I'm planning that after some of my short stories are published, I will self-publish Chaos and Other Love Stories - See Index - a collection of short stories. I'm shopping for an editor and an agent for my completed novel The Window and my second novel in progress Blood Magic.
Local first time writers tend to be of two complexions: those who scorn money to create art and those with lots and lots of ideas who don’t know how to get them on paper. I am neither. I’ve completed my first novel, have begun my second and am researching my third and forth novels.
My hopes for this site are to publish stories that will not be published in print as well as those that have already been published. I will keep adding to my rants and poetry for the fun of it, so check back now and then and drop me a line and let me know if you liked anything.
