Leigh McCormick was born in Las Vegas, Nevada, but spent the first ten years of her life as an Air Force brat
living all over the country, returning to make Las Vegas her home. After graduating with degrees in English,
Sociology, and Communications, she began her career in journalism as a reporter/producer at a local television
station followed by years in Public Relations. Over the past 20 years, her writing
credits, publishing for
small press and local news organizations, include essays, short stories, poetry, feature and hard news writing.
She has been editor of several cultural publications as
well as a part time and guest instructor/lecturer at both the local community college and university.
She is presently working on a book of short stories.
Her completed novel, The Window should be out in 2007. And she has begun her second novel,
Blood Magic. Ms. McCormick lives with her husband and two cats, Ming the Familiar and Taja the Lump.
