Every day I write the best I can, and some days, if I’m lucky, I write better than I can.
This quote by Ernest Hemingway best explains how developing a form of automatic writing for comparison essays on my family philosophies and practices and modern witchcraft improved my writing as a journalist, poet, and storyteller.

Forty years of creating thoughtful insight and wisdom
Poetry
I, like a crystal prism,
Capture you light
And return to you
The spectrum
Of your dreams,
Colored by my own.

I am often asked if I’m a white witch, black witch or grey witch. I’m not crazy about color coding witches. My color is fire. My color is passion, lust for everything that is rich and good and kind, empowering, expansive and celebratory. Slice colors thin enough and even the greys have greys. And the most beautiful grays are not mixed in black and white, but purple, yellow, orange, blue, red and green in infinite combinations. My color is infinite combinations.

Wayward Writer
For forty years I’ve used my words to make my living, to help others make their living and to create a body of work that never found a publisher. I started as a poet and philosopher publishing in college small press and literary magazines. Then, I honed my skills as a broadcast journalist; reporter and producer. I later transitioned into corporate public relations, marketing and freelance writing. I later turned my ten year skill painting in oils to open an art gallery hosting resident artists and curated guest artists for another ten years. My artistic eye, marketing and writing skills were used to design mine and associate’s entrepreneurial media services.
Along the way, writing poetry, modern philosophy and dark fiction stories were my drug of choice to express my creativity in an uninspired pedestrian world. I completed a novel, outlined three more, wrote thirteen short stories, outlined two children’s books, and wrote five hundred poems, of which a third may be publishable. Publishing happened when someone crossed my path and solicited me for publication. I never had the time or money to properly commit a manuscript to editors and agents to begin the long steeple chase of submission guidelines used to sabotage a books journey to publication.
